Division Of Organic Transistor

Organic Transistors (OT, organic heterojunction devices) are expected to be the device of next generation that can be manufactured with simple printing process performable at low-temperature, and that can achieve novel applications as electronic device that are beyond the scope of conventional transistors manufactured with inorganic materials. Research efforts at Yamagata University have been focused on the development of organic materials for OT, toward improvement of performance of the devices, and on the elucidation of operation mechanisms. Latest research objectives also include the implementation of both digital and analog integrated circuit device with organic materials. Of particular interest is the flexible display device, consisting of OLED and OT devices built on flexible substrates (e.g. plastic film) as integrated circuits. The device is an exemplary application of OT, of which fundamental technology has been taken as the target of research efforts for establishment.
