Starting from 4pm on July 12, The 40th ROEL Lecture Session was held was held at Seminar Room on the 1st Floor in 100th Anniversary Hall, inviting Mr. Norifumi Egami, Director of Image & Storage Devices Research Division, NHK Science and Technical Research Laboratories as a lecturer.
The title of the lecture was "Research and Develpment on Image Sensor in NHK Science and Technical Research Laboratories", and Mr. Egami showed us beautiful pictures and videos which we cannot see in our daily lives, such as a super-slow motion video taken with a special camera. Many researchers and students attended the lecture and it finished in success.

The outline of the research and development on the image sensors that NHK Science and Technical Research Laboratories has been mainly working on (image sensor for Super Hi-Vision, high-sensitivity image sensor, ultra-high-speed image sensor, and organic image sensor), and also the future vision and organizational management of NHK Science and Technical Research Laboratories will be explained.
