(Scope)
Article 1: This policy determines the matters necessary for the content of the website of Yamagata University (hereafter referred to as the Home Page) that Yamagata University (hereafter referred to as the University) sets out and maintains on the internet, and for adequate and effective operation of the Home Page as well.
(Definition)
Article 2: In this Policy, the Home Page includes the official website of the University and the websites set out by the Section(s, described below), links to which are set in the Home Page.
2.2: In this Policy, the Section(s) means the department(s), faculty(ies) or other group(s) of the University that provide information for the Home Page, of which contents are defined elsewhere in this Policy.
(Conceptual design)
Article 3: Conceptual design of the Home Page and the contents therein shall be made by the public relations committee of the University.
(Standard for the Home Page contents)
Article 4: Content(s) of the Home Page shall have education and research as its purpose, be adequate as a medium for public relations of the University, and be given full consideration to its appropriateness, trueness and novelty. In this regard, such information and/or methods that are described below shall not be included:
[1] Information that violates, or that may violate, human rights,
[2] Information that infringes, or that may infringe, intellectual property rights,
[3] Information that violates, or that may violate, individuals' privacy,
[4] Information that defame or slander, or that may defame or slander, an individual or specific group(s), and
[5] Method(s) of access to the source(s) of aforesaid information.
(Overall manager)
Article 5: An Overall Manager shall be appointed for the purpose of insuring activities for appropriate public relations.
5.2: The chairperson of the Public Relations Committee shall be the Overall Manager.
5.3: The Overall Manager shall have the Home Page appropriately managed, while assuming the role of maintaining sufficient and smooth contact with the relevant parties within and outside the University and executing the functions of liaison and coordination within the University, with regard to the Home Page.
(Section Representative)
Article 6: A Section Representative shall be appointed in each Section in order to manage the Home Page each Section provides.
6.2: The chief of the Section shall be Section Representative.
6.3: Section Representative shall assume the responsibility to have the Section's Home Page appropriately managed, by presenting the e-mail address for contact or other relevant information, in the said Home Page.
6.4: Section Representative shall inspect the information content of the Home Page with reference to the provision of Article 4 from time to time, and when any discrepancy is found, implement a necessary corrective measure as appropriate.
6.5: Section Representative shall set out necessary matters regarding design and operation of the Home Page the Section provides, as appropriate.
(Operating Agent)
Article 7: An Operating Agent shall be appointed in the Section managed by Section Representative.
7.2: The Operating Agent shall, based on the direction from the Section Representative, perform maintenance tasks of the Home Page the Section sets out, and offer appropriate response to the inquiries that may arrive from within or outside the University regarding the content of information provided in the Home Page, with close consultation with Overall Manager or Section Representative as necessary.
(Handling Policy for Link Request)
Article 8: All requests for the link to the Home Page shall be examined individually for public nature and benefit(s) to the University, and granted when determined affirmative. Link requests of the following nature shall not be granted, specifically:
[1] Link request from an individual, of which purpose is not education and/or research,
[2] Link request for information regarding specific business enterprise's operation, and
[3] Link request for information or method(s) as described in the terms of Article 4.
8.2: Permission to grant link(s) to the Home Page shall be issued by the Public Relations Committee of the University.
(Operation and maintenance of the Home Page server)
Article 9: The server for the Home Page shall be managed by Overall Manager and Section Representatives upon the support of the YU Networking and Computing Service Center.
(Clerical matters)
Article 10: Clerical matters regarding the operation and management of the Home Page shall be handled by General Affairs, General Affairs Department.
(Others)
Article 11: All matters necessary for the Home Page, other than provided in this Policy, shall be determined by the public relations committee of the University.
