Advancements in Flexible Display Technology from SID 2011
The annual "Display Week" event sponsored by the Society for Information Displays (SID) one of the most significant international gatherings on display technology, at which the latest progress and developments in display device, materials, and manufacturing technologies are presented or shown. This presentation reports on the major developments from event SID 2011, held in Los Angeles, California, USA, May 15-20, 2011. The most significant papers for the symposium in technical sessions that relate to flexible display technology will be reviewed in the areas of flexible display devices, including e-paper and OLED displays, IGZO TFT array technology, flexible display manufacturing and component technologies. Technical results presented from Japanese organizations that include Sony, Toshiba, Toppan Printing, NHK, SEL, and the University of Tokyo, and from overseas companies and research organizations that include Samsung, ITRI, Corning.
