Yamagata University released on March 7 that they started a new research development project on human-interactive robot using soft material. For the safety, usually rigid-body dynamics robots made of metal only can be used inside the factory. The university is going to develop an original soft material and aiming to create a robot even being used at home. The 1st trial production will be opened to the public this autumn and it could be expected to create a new industry.
