Yamagata newspaper (December 27) published an article entitled “Increasing the power of local community by the highest intellect”. The article says Yonezawa Mayor, Sanjuro Abe, the director of the department of Engineering, Hiroshi Iizuka, and Prefectural Yonezawa junior college president, Keiko Endo, had a talk in the town promotion meeting. Each person exhibited hit/her own idea about the role of higher education system in developing the town.
