Yamagata Bank released on Wednesday that a local trading company established in December starts selling new materials of lithium-ion battery. This bank proposed "Iide Battery Valley" plan to Yamagata University in 2013 in order to promote industrial cluster of next-generation batteries. In 2016 the university bulit a research institute, and a mass-production plant of new materials is going to be operated in 2021. The local trading company plays the role of the sales and thus it could be expected to encourage the regional development and create a new source of profits for the bank.
