Time/Date

June 12 (Tue)

Location

Conference room on 4th floor in Research Center for Organic Electronics

Lecturer

Prof. Kohzo Ito in Department of Advanced Materials Science, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, the University of Tokyo

Subject

“The Principle of Slide-Ring Polymer and the Application to the Self-Restoring Coating”

The slide-ring polymer allows the cross-linkings to move freely and holds entropies in 2 kinds: one is polymer and the other is ringed molecule. Since its physicality differs from conventional polymeric materials, the more attentions have been given to its basics and applications.
In this lecture, the new principle of ringed entropies will be explained in a way that anybody can understand. Also, the self-restoring coating that uses slide-ring polymers, which has been rapidly developed for practical use, will be introduced.
