Starting from 3pm on Nevember 22nd, The 49th ROEL Lecture Session was held at Conference Room on the 4th floor in Research Center for Organic Electronics. We invited Junzo Masuda, Director of Japan Displays Research at IHS iSuppli, as a guest speaker.

More than 60 researchers and students attended to the lecture entitled "OLED - Display and New Battle-", and it finished in success.

有機ELは何れ液晶を凌駕すると期待されているが、昨今小型の市場は軽い、割れない、薄い、高解像度、低消費電力という、ディスプレイ本来の特性と無縁な要求が出始めた。液晶はインセルなどで薄型化し有機ELと対抗するが、有機ELはいよいよ個体の特徴を生かした究極の割れないディスプレの方向に舵を切り始めた。熾烈な競争の現状を斬る。
