Tokito and Fukuda group at Research Center for Organic Electronics (ROEL) in Yamagata University successfully fabricated a fully-printed transistor circuitry on the world’s largest (approx. 20cm x 20cm) and thinnest (approx. 1μm) ultra-flexible film by using two different inks. It is also proved that the transistor circuitry works even if it is crumpled or stretched.
Because the transistor circuitry printed on a very soft and large film can be comfortably applied on human bodies, pillows, bed sheets and clothes, it is expected that it will enable people to print out healthcare sensors with their printers at home for individual needs.
