【News Release】(Yamagata) Dr. Teruya GOTO from Prof. Tatsuhiro TAKAHASHI’s group of Yamagata University succeeds in developing the world’s first electrically conductive plastic, which is made of composite material and unbreakable even being struck by lightning.

Yamagata University succeed in developing the world’s first composite material -carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) -which has good thunder resistant and could be used to the constructional material for air crafts or wind power generators, was released on July,7. This research, which is developed with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the University of Tokyo, can improve the safety problem after being put to practical use. Also this result will be presented in an international conference in Denmark soon.
